You can do it with out the perm, but it won't be smooth, if you are looking for that look. You should get a good setting lotion and a hooded dryer and try it out one day, for kicks, when you don't have to be anyplace paticular. I rod my human hair extentions, just for pizzazz. AND DON'T FORGET THE END PAPERS! They are key.

You will have to take your time and make sure all the hair that going to rolled is smooth around each rod, it should be rolled with a setting lotion. It's going to take time. Whay don't you use the pastic magnetic rollers?

Unfortunately, there is no way to remove the chemicals. You have to cut off the hair you straightened.

You can transition out of the straight look by setting your hair on rollers to get the curly/wavy look back while periodically trimming off the ends. I wouldn't recommend curling your hair with a curling iron since it is already damaged.

There are many things you can do to maximize the growth of your hair; that way your natural waves will grow out more quickly. Try drinking lots of water, fruits and veggies, healthy protein, a multivitamin, scalp massage. Basically, the healthier your body is, the faster your hair will grow, *but* most people will only grow 1/2" a month at best. Still, that could be a whole new head of hair pretty soon if your hair is medium length.

unfortunately, you're just gonna have to let it grow out. don't put anymore chemicals in it, but wash it as you normally would with an extra moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. also use a leave in conditioner. it's important that you not let your hair get too dry and weak during the transition. if you wanna match the natural hair with the straightening, you can either flat iron the new growth, or not do anything to the chemically treated part (if that makes sense), so it will not be so straight. i hope this help, and best of luck!

Ok first, why are you calling your hair slave nappy? That sounds very ignorant. Don't insult your natural hair that way. There is no reason to feel so negatively about your hair. You need to forget what society or other ignorant people have told you about your hair. That is nothing but internalized racism and self-hate. We all need to let that mess go. Don't let other people define you!

Second, why don't you talk to a stylist that specializes in natural hair. I would reccommend Miss Jessie's Buttercreme, or this product called Kinky-Curly. But that is if you choose to embrace your texture and wear it. Visit the links, you have options.

honestly, you need to relax your roots if you want long manageable hair. if your doing it at home you must be very very very very careful and use the most sensitive one ever.. and even that's not gauranteed. don't damaged your hair as to have it fall off.

i use something called a color stripper (lol) from sally's hair salon and it takes the artifical color from your hair but dont levae it on for too long! follow the directions exactly cause otherwise your hair will go a funny color (i did it and left it on for an extra ten minute, and my hair turn orange)

Dye the hair its "natural color" The new hair will match so you should not need redying to hide the roots. Keep it cut to the length you like.

Well, first of all you need a lot of deep conditioner, my favorite is to mix the emergency from matrix with 2+1 from Sebastian and a clear celophen color from sebastian. This is great to restore your ends.

For your color try to find a permanent color similar to your natural color. Please do not use strong bleach!!!

Since going natural, the texture of my hair has changed pretty dramatically; from fine and thin, to thick and kinky. I usually use Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo, and condition with his The Detangler, and that worked great when my hair was relaxed, but I was just wondering if there was a shampoo and conditioner that would be even more beneficial to my hair in the state it's in now?

Btw...When I say natural, I just mean no relaxer, because my hair is color-treated too, if that makes any difference.

Well always depends on how long your hair is.

When I started doing that years ago after having about 1.5 inches of natural hair grown out I just went to a hair salon so they could match my hair colour and dyed the whole thing. That way as it grows out you won't look funny.
