natural like as in stuff from home?

ok my mom always rinsed my hair in apple cider vinegar once a month, it strips the hair of all the buildup hair gets and makes it shine. (it is not as bad as it sounds)

Mayonnaise will condition it, but be carefull, if your hair is fine it might make it greasy looking.

I don't know if that's what you are looking for, but.........

I want to go back to my natural hair colour!?

My natural hair colour is auburn and for the last couple of years I've been through every colour you can think of (you can imagine what my hair looked like when I bleached it blonde at home...) and at the moment my hair is black and my roots are coming through. I really want to go back to my natural colour. Should I just grit my teeth and shell out at a hairdressers or is there any way I could go back with home hair colour?

I want to go back to my natural hair colour!?

I would have it done professionally, don't try it at home

I want to go back to my natural hair colour!?

you can go to the hair dresses andhave your hair 'stripped' or just go and have it dyed as near to your hair colour as you possily can. either way will work good luck.

I want to go back to my natural hair colour!?

well you can redye it your natural color and then let it grow back so you cant see the roots and after a while you can cut off the colored part then u cant really tell it aint natural

I want to go back to my natural hair colour!?

go to your hair dresser. have them strip the black off. because if you try to dye it. it's not going to come out light enough. But Don't try it at home. I tried it. and my hair turend orange!!. Good luck! :)

I want to go back to my natural hair colour!?

Color it to the closest color you can of your natural color and wait for it to grow out.

I want to go back to my natural hair colour!?

Hi I've have many years of experience in this department, your

best beat is to go to the hairdresser they know best but if you cant

you'll need to strip all the color out with a hair dye remover make sure you get (the color your going to dye it to) them both together do it all in one shot so you don't

have to run out with orange hair don't freak its in the process to getting to your natural hair color. dye it and let it grow out auburn is

a great color.....good luck Linda

I want to go back to my natural hair colour!?

Yes. This kind of dye job should be done by professionals. It will require lifting of the black color and the applying of the auburn color that matches you natrual color.

Which should I use to enhance my natural hair brunette color: Pantene Expressions or John Frieda?

My hair is very dull, it has no life. Since I have been exposed lately to sun, it has been damaging my hair. My natural hair color is fading. I have never highlighted nor colored my hair. Which shampoo would you recommend me: Pantene Pro-V Brunette expressions or John Frieda Brunette? Has it worked for you?? I would appreciate your answers.

Which should I use to enhance my natural hair brunette color: Pantene Expressions or John Frieda?

I never use Pantene. It leaves a nasty waxy residue on the hair. Go with the Fieda.

Which should I use to enhance my natural hair brunette color: Pantene Expressions or John Frieda?

Pantene Pro-V Brunette expressions for sure because John Frieda Brunette makes some peoples hair fall out. It happened to my cousin.

Which should I use to enhance my natural hair brunette color: Pantene Expressions or John Frieda?

I use pantene and think it works great.

Which should I use to enhance my natural hair brunette color: Pantene Expressions or John Frieda?

Neither one is good for your hair. Both deposit color minerals in your hair and damage it further. If you are looking to boost shine, use a hydrating shampoo/conditioner and deep condition once a weekend. Its possible that the sun is simply drying out your hair as opposed to your hair color fading.

Which should I use to enhance my natural hair brunette color: Pantene Expressions or John Frieda?

I wouldent go with either of those. I used Biolage, and they have it for a ton of different hair types. I have it for color treated hair, but you could get the kind for dry hair or the voumizing kind. Biolage is really good for your hair, and it smells really good!!

Black women, how do I style my natural hair with straw curls?

I have very long, very thick natural hair. Normally, I style my hair in braids, but I decided to let my hair breathe for a while. I didn't want to wear my regular afro, so I would appreciate any tips on styling my hair this way. I know that I need straws, but what else do I need? How long can it typically take to style? If you could provide a link with how-to instructions, that'd be great. Thanks!

Straw Set Black Hairstyle

Wearing a straw set black hairstyle is a great way to eliminate the need to work on your hair daily and while it is going out to natural again. To acheive a natural black (Afro) hairstyle, you'll need: several plastic drinking straws or small perm hairstyling rods that are slightly larger for looser curls; setting lotion; and hair end tissue papers. (See instructions on product packaging for proper use of each item.)

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Start by shampooing and conditioning your hair and then saturate it with a high quality hair setting lotion.

Step 2: Part you hair into 1/4 to 1/2 inch sections and place end papers on the ends of your hair.

Step 3: Roll your hair onto each straw and then secure them using hair pins.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 until you have completed your entire head.

Step 5: Dry your hair under a hair dryer.

Step 6: Remove the straws and separate each curl using your fingers. For this hairstyle, only finger combing your hair is necessary, however, to insure your hair does not become dry, spray it with som oil sheen styling conditioner.

I agree with above. Just don't forget to curl your hair down the straw. Not just wrapping all of your hair around the straw...it will never dry like that.

African American Natural Hair Care?

Does anyone in the Dallas metroplex know of a natural hair care salon. I'm not looking to wear micro braids or weave. I would like to find a professional stylist that can take me through the transitioning period.

thank you

African American Natural Hair Care?

i dont know of any places

i stopped getting relaxers in 7th grade and i didnt have no help me transisition to natural, it can be hard because your hair can start to break where the natural hair and relaxed hair meets, keep getting your ends trimmed or you can just go for the big chop off!!!

what i did was use a product called stay soft fro, on the bottle it looks like sta.sof.fro or somethinf like the kind that is for extra dry hair comes in a brown bottle. it can be a lil drippy, but it is great for natural hair, my hair was so soft, people assumed my hair was dry because it was natural, my hair felt like cotton, it is a very good leave in conditioner, and it made the relaxed parts of my hair look less straight, so it blended in a lil more

having natural hair says so many things about us black women, people see us as being bold and having courage because we actually decided to have the guts to go "nappy" as they would say lol i hate that word. but until you get all your permed hair cut out u might wanna try maybe flat ironing your hair if u want. i flat iron my hair since i dont get relaxers, if u wanna know of a good flat iron email me, the website is folica.com u can look at all kinds of flat irons and they had this thing where it says top 10b best flat irons, the #1 was a 1 1/2 inch sedu it had the best ratings and everything, im gonna put a pic on there like everyone else, but it costs about 125, it works the best i have tried so many i mean my hair even moves like a white girls lol, that is how straight i get it.

but good luck goin natural email me if u like!!!!!

I have natural hair but I am afraid to loc'. HELP! Why am I so afraid??

I have been natural for about 6 years and the sad thing is that I always wear my hair in twists or twist extensions (which are like locs) But I guess the word LOCS is saying that I am LOCKED into that one style. :-(

I have natural hair but I am afraid to loc'. HELP! Why am I so afraid??

We as women are rightfully careful about our hair. The process of "Loc"ing one's hair is a big step because "Loc"ed hair can't be undone after a while. If you are enjoying the versatility of being able to wear it straight (press-n-comb), twist it when you want, and extend it when you want, hold out on something so committed as "Loc"ing the hair. I love the way our beautiful people look in locs. (men especially "WOW") I have friends who love their locs and they can curl, twist, and bun them into wonderful styles. I am also thinking of making that change from chemical processed to natural. Good luck

I have natural hair but I am afraid to loc'. HELP! Why am I so afraid??

if you are afraid then i say don't do it...stick with the kinky twist.....

I have natural hair but I am afraid to loc'. HELP! Why am I so afraid??

I have natural hair, I wanted locs as well, but for me it was too much of a commitment. Locs are cool and very versatile, also with locs your hair grows faster. Then if you get tired of them you can always cut em off and start all over again. Sister locs look really cool too, they are smaller than average sized locs...

I have natural hair but I am afraid to loc'. HELP! Why am I so afraid??

You're afraid because you'll have to chop it all off when they lock and you get tired of them.

I have natural hair but I am afraid to loc'. HELP! Why am I so afraid??

Maybe because you don't really want them. I'm very versatile with my hair too and I hate to have just one style. So I wouldn't even consider getting locs.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

And no, I'm not being racist, just asking a question based on my observations.

White girls generally go natural with their hair. Sure, they'll dye it different colors or give it a slight curl or slight straighten once in a while, but they rarely dramarically change it to being like black girls natural hair. Where as black girls usually do dramatically change theirs and straighten it like white girls hair instead of going natural. Sure, some go natural, but most don't.

Why?

Please, if you decide to answer this question with a question, still explain what I asked above. Thankyou.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Because it is more easy to manage and because no offense to anyone but some "whites" are more comfortable with blacks who have straight hair as opposed to course dreaded hair. I do believe that it is a sub conscious bias...but unfortunately we live in a country that is control by others and not by all so often you have to summit to others standards in order to be successful. I'm sure someone will say I'm racist but I dont expect you to understand because I live in my black skin everyday along with my "nappy" hair :) so I know what's going on. I hope that I enlightened you

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

black people please dont answer this

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Because they can.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

I actually haven't noticed that, but if it's true, i think black girls' hair are more unruly and harder to control then white girls' hair. maybe that's why black girls do more stuff with their hair then white girls.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Ok, I see what you mean. BUT, why do white girls tan? Are they trying to be hispanic or black? Why don't they go natural and leave their skin color alone? I think they do it because straight hair is easier to tame. Besides, straight hair looks nicer. NOW, why do white girls tan?(I think you should post this question too huh?)

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Black girls straighten their hair because it's easier to manage. I personally like my hair natural. I was lucky enough to be born with very beautiful curly hair that isn't too tightly curled or thick. I know a whole lot of white girls who straighten their hair. Dyeing your hair is not being natural. Chemicals are used when you dye your hair, so white girls are doing exactly the same thing as black. Women in general try to change their looks.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

i agree with pamela.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

First off, i want to know what u mean by "natural"? Is there a certain way a black person's hair has to be? Cuz my hair is straight and natural and im black! And yes i was born with my hair like that. But to answer your question, straight hair is easier to manage

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

It's fashion that's all.

Ignoring race, let's look to pop culture -- remember the Brady Bunch when they all got a perm? The guys looked hilarious! Sigh, I guess it was hip at the time.

Fashion will never be understood by a social observer.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

its not a racist question so i don't see why i shouldn't answer it (black girl here)

black women have too much volume and its hard to manage our hair, its thicker than the average white girls hair and more wiry. white women with thin hair use something to add volume but we have to straighten to get rid of some of the volume (no shampoo for us)

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Many white girls get spiral perms and body waves.

I live in Houston and many of the white girls here DO NOT GO NATURAL!

Those with curly hair, flat iron it. Those with straight hair, curl it or get curly perms.

However, I'm sure more white girls than blacks girls go natural, but if your hair was very thick, very curly, and hard to manage with you struggle with it daily, or go get a relaxer to make it more easy to manage?

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

because their hair is absolutely disgusting and they know it. they get offended when white people flip their hair up and stuff because their nappy hair wont do it. if you ever saw a black girl with nice hair, it's a good wig, hair extensions, or otherwise completely unnatural.

Why do black girls straighten their hair, while white girls go natural?

Because if they let their hair go normal it'd look like a big rats nest.
