I want to get back to my natural red hair color. Right now it is an odd burgundy color. How do I get

I highlighted my red hair blonde 6 months ago. I tried to fix up my roots by dyeing the entire thing red. It came out to a weird burgundy color. I want to get my natural red hair color back. I've heard washing it with Head and Shoulders. I have also heard of hair stripping. Cost really isn't an issue. I want my natural hair color back!! Please help me!!!!

I want to get back to my natural red hair color. Right now it is an odd burgundy color. How do I get red back?

2 REALLY Get UR "Natural" Hair Color after Everything that You have Done to It Can ONLY Be Accomplished By Letting Ur HAIR "Grow Out" ! !

I want to get back to my natural red hair color. Right now it is an odd burgundy color. How do I get red back?

ummm yeah honey...you dont. red hair is the hardest color to die and the hardest color of hair to get dye out of...

make a paste out of a laudry detergent with bleach (it HAS to HAVE bleach or it wont work) then rub it in your hair...it wont take the color colpletley out but it will help...good luck.

How can I get a more natural looking hair color?

At the moment i've got bleached super blonde hair, it's a little dry but in pretty good condition because I look after it very well (except for the bleach) my natural hair color is a dark honey blonde, but at the moment with having the bleach blonde my regrowth looks almost black...

I want to go to a salon and get my hair looking more natural because I don't like my regrowth being so "full on"... but I still like being blonde....what should I ask to get done?? any suggestions would be great!!

How can I get a more natural looking hair color?

Try getting it dyed a darker shade of blonde, and maybe a few highlights. That will help the re-growth look more natural

How can I get a more natural looking hair color?

maybe ask them to tone it all down, so you can still have blonde hair but it wont be SO blonde with dark roots. if they lowlight it or tone it down a shade the roots might blend in well enough that no one would notice the growth.

How can I get a more natural looking hair color?

Oooh, I know get some black highlights that will make the black regrowth look not as noticable.

How can I get a more natural looking hair color?

The most natural you can get is with your own hair color.

How can I get a more natural looking hair color?

Maybe they could add darker highlights so it would be bleached blonde low lights with darker blonde highlights. Salons also have products that are color removers so it does less damage than coloring your hair again.

This question is for those who know alot about african/natural kinky hair and the BIG CHOP da da dum

the big chop i when you want natural hair but you still have relaxed hair . you usally let your hair grow a couple of inches and THEN chop it off. sum people just chop it all of and start a fresh well my mom doesnt want me to do that she says your relaxed hair falls of bye its self??? beacuse the natural hair is so heavy well anybody kno if this is okay to do??? beacuse i dont wanna break my hair i rather be bald for a couple of weeks right now my natural hair is about 5 inches!! its half and half

This question is for those who know alot about african/natural kinky hair and the BIG CHOP da da dummmm?

Just chop it off. Its healthier and it looks great! I LOVED my short short short hair. It was so sexy looking believe it or not. I didnt think guys would hit on me but I actually got hit on quite a lot. My only issue came along when I had medium- ish hair. I hated that inbetween state so I got braids.

My roommate is going natural but keeping the relaxer in and I don't suggest it. Her hair is breaking and it looks strange. Even when she straightens it with a flat iron it eventually looks strange.

This question is for those who know alot about african/natural kinky hair and the BIG CHOP da da dummmm?

yes, your relaxed hair will fall off. Your hair will break off at the point where the different textures meet. It isn't advised to let this happen because it leaves you with damaged ends, and it might take a while for all of the relaxed hair to break off.

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

I haven't let my hair fully dry by itself in a couple of years.

I've always put in hair products while it was wet, blow dried it, straightened it, etc.

I figure it'd be different if I didn't use a straightening cream or a curling mousse or even a defrizzer.

I think I'm going to let it dry on its own tomorrow, to see what it's actually like! I'm kind of excited, haha.

Does anyone else not really know their hair's natural texture?

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

I let mine air dry because I have short curly hair and it looks best like that. But when it was long and I wore it straight it would be kinda dry and frizzy (cause of the curls). I used lots of conditioner and gel and other junk just to make it managable and soft. It's a handful to deal with if you air dry it with no cream/gel or anything in it so good luck! And thank God for hair hair appliances and gels! LOL

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

mines a pur hazel brown

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

dark brown and super wavy

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

my natural texture is curly. good luck with your experiment.

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

I can guarantee you that you will have some frizzies and it will feel out of control. Let us know what you find out....

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

My hair is naturally nappy but I am almost completely bald now so it doesn't matter

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

My hair grain is thick and dry. But I have always corrected it by using hair conditioner everyday.

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

I dont i was thinking about do that soon but i didnt want it to look bad. But who knows u were born with it so it can look that bad.

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

Yes, sometimes I let it air dry and have found it is very wavy.

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

Mine is a fine fly-away texture

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

mine is actually really soft if i brush it out when it's wet and let it dry down on its own...

if i pull it up and let it dry though its really frizzy and wiry feeling...its nasty

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

i only go natural, lol i love my hair:) i really lucked out in that department. It's so shiny and silky, and loosely curly. It's slightly dry though, so i have to keep ontop of trims.

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

mine used to be fine thin and stick straight.

all of a sudden, it changed to fine, average, and super wavy.

strange. i know hormonal changes, medicinal changes, and other things can change your hair texture, but it wasn't changing as it grew; it changed overnight. one day, i let it dry naturally and it was straight. the next, i went to work, got a haircut, and my co-worker/stylist said, "man your hair is curly!" and it's been a pain in the **** ever since lol. love my chi. couldn't live without it.

Do you know what your natural hair texture is?

never mind knowing what the texture is. I can't even remember what the original colour was.

Are you happy with your natural hair?

I'm talking about the hair on your head! :-D

Many hairdressers say it's hard to find a girl that is happy with her hair.

I am not too fond of mine. My natural hair is quite curly so I spend a great deal of time straightening it. How about yourself?

Are you happy with your natural hair?

Mine's great - Easy to manage, never goes out of style

Are you happy with your natural hair?

No the color is to blah

Are you happy with your natural hair?

No I hate it, thank god for dye and straighteners.

Are you happy with your natural hair?

Definitely NOT.. mine is a combo between straight and wavy, it is THICK and coarse-ish.. It takes me like an hour to blow dry it.. the same to straighten it.. horrible!

Are you happy with your natural hair?

well, i think it's alright to curl our hair every once in a while, or straighten it, and highlights are okay. but, if there is a way to make your hair look silky with using some sort of iron or coloring, then you should be happy with it

Are you happy with your natural hair?

not anymore!!!

Are you happy with your natural hair?

Im not happy with the hair on my head, or in my pants, way to curly lol

Are you happy with your natural hair?

my hair is naturally straight and blonde but i dye it black because i like the black hair - blue eyes contrast.

:)

i guess im pretty much happy with the style but not so much the color...?

Are you happy with your natural hair?

yea, i am happy with my hair .

Are you happy with your natural hair?

No, mine is frizzy and it doesn't have a style. It's not straight and it's not wavy or curly. Weirdd

Are you happy with your natural hair?

my natural colour is brown wit tint ov red it was nice til i dyed it at 13 n ruined it i dye it still but wish had originall colour i permed mine ages ago didn like it so brushed it out stil ave kink in but straightens easy i use pantene sleek n straight shampoo n conditioner

Are you happy with your natural hair?

i dont mind it, gotta live with it so i make the most of it. i think girls with naturally straight hair wish to have curly hair, and girls with naturally curly hair wish to have straight hair. well from my experience neways

Are you happy with your natural hair?

i love the color, but sometimes the hair can be frizzy, sometimes it will be a lil wavy, but think god for straightners, and hairbows

Are you happy with your natural hair?

just like you I have curly hair that gets very frizzy if I dont straighten it.if I get caught in the rain I look like a wild woman

Are you happy with your natural hair?

i actually like mine. it's liek the only thing i liek about myself. i like my dark brown hair color because its a good contrast with my light skin and blue eyes. it's straight but still thick so it doesnt get all stringy and thin or whatever. it's kinda easy to curl, so that's always a plus. it also doesn't act up too bad in the humidity.

Are you happy with your natural hair?

If I leave my hair to dry I look like some throw back from the eighties, wavey curly fuzzy.oh how I love my straighteners xxx xxx

Are you happy with your natural hair?

I like my hair a lot. It's just thick enough and it has natural highlights. It's wavy without being too curly, but when I want it curly all I have to do is put mousse in it and it looks great. It takes a long time to straighten, like 45 minutes, but I never do that because I don't really like the whole 'super straight hair all the time' style.

Are you happy with your natural hair?

i shave my head every day so yes i am happy with mine

Are you happy with your natural hair?

no not really my natural hair colour is dark brown and i have been dyeing it red since i was 14yrs old that was 14yrs ago i started that.

Are you happy with your natural hair?

omg ;why would i like me hair. it is so thick and so wavy i can never leave it down with out straightening it. even when i straighten it, it looks bad cuz it's so thick and gets all frizzy. that's y most of the time my hair is up in a humongous bun. i went 2 get my hair thinned the other weekend and when the lady took my hair down from the bun she wuz like, "three times thicker then any hair, three times thicker!" and even though i got it thinned out it's still thick as hell. u should be happy u don't have hair that some ppl have. and then agian u should be happy u don't have no hair or really bad hair like some ppl. hope i wuz some help

Are you happy with your natural hair?

Not very many people are content with what they have. If they have curly hair they want straight hair, if they have straight hair they want curly hair. It's just one of man's weird quirks to be discontent with what God gave them.

I have my hair highlighted, to help make the color better. I wish I didn't have to use a flat iron every morning, but, otherwise, I can't complain too much! =)

Are you happy with your natural hair?

yes if afro comes back in stile

Are you happy with your natural hair?

Of course not. I don't even know what my natural color is anymore =P

Are you happy with your natural hair?

I hate mine now. I used to have straight hair. I had cancer and had to have Chemo and I have now got wavy hair. Am still alive tho x

Are you happy with your natural hair?

I detested my hair when I was younger. Bright red and curly, not just curly but really, really, really frizzy curly. Awful I thought. The adults used to coo over it, how nice and curly it was and what a lovely colour. Bah. My mum wouldn't let me have it cut and by the time I was 10 I could sit on it. Bath time used to be a nightmare. It's a wonder half the street weren't reporting a murder as she cruelly combed it out! Anyway my Grannie (her mother) asked me what I wanted for my 11th birthday pressie and I asked if I could have absolutely anything? She nodded and I had my hair cut, not just cut but razored off very, very short! My mum didn't speak to her for 2 years after that, lol:-D

Anyway, in 2002 I had to have chemotherapy due to Breast Cancer and I didn't lose my hair (as it was so thick and curly), but it went quite thin at the front. When it came back it wasn't as curly and it's now faded to a lovely strawberry blonde colour so at last I like my hair!

Are you happy with your natural hair?

i used to want curly hair, but-

I've come to the fact that I like how it's naturally STRAIGHT and thin, (Not thick and frizzy or wavey like my friends complain about, which is why I realize now I DO love it.),so even if it does kink one day, it only takes 5 minutes to straighten.

and it has natural highlights :D

and looks good long.

Though, it doesn't curl.

looks bad sort (thats ok though, short is gross anyways in my opinion lol)

And because it's thin, I think it makes up for fact in quantity lol so it gets tangled easily.

And sidebangs don't really work on my hair.

The color, yuck.

(It's like light brown, and looks gray in fluorescent light. lol

I've always wanted dark brown hair...)

also if I dont blow dry it it feels gross

and i have to switch shampoos daily otherwise it gets build up easy

Are you happy with your natural hair?

I'm basically happy with it now, but I never used to be.

When i was a teenager it was long down to my waist, yet was a complete frizz-ball wavy mess and split all up to my ears! Hideous!

Since then I've learned to look after it and now its quite healthy and shiny and black (naturally), with no signs of any grey yet! (I'm in my 30s).

i've learned how to make it look good either straight or curly and I've come to appreciate having wavy hair as it means i can wear it either way quite easily.

Haven't dyed my hair in years but when the first greys start peeking through i'll probably be tempted!

Are you happy with your natural hair?

My hair is thick curly and wavy. Sometimes I really hate it and other times like today i really love it. Its funny because people with curly hair tend to want straight and people with straight want curly.

Are you happy with your natural hair?

I am a bald man and quite happy with my situation! Men seen to have a easy time when it comes to hair!

Are you happy with your natural hair?

There were times when I had a perm I wasn't happy with my hair. I would ask my hairdresser to do a certain style and she would say your hair isn't long enough so the still would not hang the way it should. If I was happy when I left it only lasted maybe a couple of days then the style was gone. Now I'm natural and by trial and error you have to find the right products for your hair. Like now, I'm trying a roller set. Something I've never done. Tomorrow or Friday I'll see how it turned out, depends on when I want to take the rollers out. Another thing hair in it's natural state is more versatile. I can straighten it and put a ponytail on it, curl it, or have braids put in if I want a style to last a few months.

Are you happy with your natural hair?

No the gay put highlights in my hair and its so not my type!arghhh! men! hate that gay!

I have blackish brown hair and i want my natural color?

sooo

i've dyed my hair black around 6 times..

and i actually think my hair mite be thinning :o

i want to give it a good break and but a effective but not so harsh dye

what should i do?

i really don't want anything that will be harmful of my scalp also i have long hair and don't want to cut if due to damage anytime soon

http://www.clairol.com/images/brand/natu...

thats my natural hair color

if you have any other solutions please tell me

i have to do something my roots are getting noticeable

I have blackish brown hair and i want my natural color?

I used to be blonde (I have long hair, as well) and my hair was starting to dry out quite a bit. I spoke with my hair dresser and she recommended that I just go back to my natural hair color (which is similar to yours). I had it dyed back to that, trimmed my split ends, and my hair grew out quickly and became a lot more healthy.

I also shampooed and conditioned (Dove Intense Therapy) every other day, used a deep conditioner (the Frizz-ease one I found to be the best) twice a week, and used a clarifying shampoo (Suave makes great one) once a week to clean out all the product build up.

By following that regiment and getting regular trims I noticed healthy, shiny hair returning in less than two weeks.

I hope that helped!

Good luck!

I have blackish brown hair and i want my natural color?

If you really want to give it a break then use a non-permanent hair color or glaze and just let it grow out and if you have long hair then cut it to meduim length that will get rid of a lot of dead ends.

I have blackish brown hair and i want my natural color?

definitly go to a salon, don't try anything at home. i'm a cosmetologist.

I have blackish brown hair and i want my natural color?

black dye is really hard to get out, unless u bleach it then recolor it.since ur hair is damaged already, then just grow it out and get regular trims every 4-6 wks.

How do I keep my natural hair looking healthy? HELP!!?

My hair is curly/straight/and wavy. It looks really bad if i dont blow dry it. So I blow dry my hair everyday and i used to straighten it every day.. And now its really dry/damaged. It also gets olily quickly. Sometimes when i dont blow dry it and just leave it as it is, it gets oily rather quicky. I need to find a way to keep my natural hair looking healty and tame it so it doesnt look like crap. = ]

How do I keep my natural hair looking healthy? HELP!!?

-drink lots of water and

-wash hair often

-use a better shampoo.

Try all of these, trust me, it works!!

How do I keep my natural hair looking healthy? HELP!!?

Have you tried deep conditiong treatments? I use BioSilk, it's kind of expensive but i LOVE IT!

How do I keep my natural hair looking healthy? HELP!!?

Condition it with a mixture of egg and mayo once a week. This should do the trick.

How do I keep my natural hair looking healthy? HELP!!?

I have very thick curly black hair down my back and I used to blow dry it all the time. Then my hair also got damaged. Now I have a strict routine and my hair always looks shiny and silky.

First I make sure I comb my hair tangle free before washing (I wash my hair 3-4 times a week). Then I start with warm water and make sure my hair is soaking wet. I squeeze out the excess water and I first use Selsun Blue to get rid of dandruff. I scrub it in really good and then I comb it through (often times on shampoos they say use a dime size amount but my hair is so thick I use a lot). Once I've combed it all through I rinse it thoroughly with COLD WATER. freezing cold water. Once it's rinsed all the way I use Garnier Fructise shampoo (to cover up the smell of Selsun blue). I scrub it in good and comb it through and rinse it with cold water. Then I use Garnier Fructise conditioner. I comb it through my hair for 3-5 minutes. Then I rinse it will cold water. Once I get out of the shower I towel dry my hair, comb it, then towel dry it again. While it's still wet and not quite damp I use a dime size amount of Garnier Fructise leave in conditioner and I don't comb it I just finger it through my hair. Then I towel dry it until it's damp and I use Frizz Ease wind down relaxing cream (a small amount) and I finger it through my hair. Then I towel dry it a bit more, comb it once again, and then use Garnier strong hold weightless gel and finger it through my hair. I then just let my hair go. I just let it dry on its own. The gel holds curl and since I rinsed with cold water my hair is extra shiny. I sometimes use a little hair spray once it's almost completely dry.

I know this sounds like a lot but really all the stuff I do to my hair takes about 20-30 minutes, and if you don't want frizzy dry hair then its worth it. I promise your hair will be silky smooth if you follow these steps. Make sure to use cold water for shine, that's very important.

I also don't comb my hair again after washing it until I go to bed, and I take small sections and gently comb it. And NEVER brush wet hair, in fact don't use a brush only a comb, because your hair will get very frizzy.

I also use a moisturizing hair mask once every 2 weeks to a month. Its like 4-10 dollars depending on brand and it helps a lot.

Good luck!

How do I keep my natural hair looking healthy? HELP!!?

You should use the new brand called Organix. It's the absolute best!

Organix has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! They have different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get organix at Target, Albertsons, Kroger, Duane Reade, Safeway, Harmon, etc. You'll love it!

How do I keep my natural hair looking healthy? HELP!!?

first find a hair serum that controls frizz....like john frieda or the main and tail line. Then get your ends trimmed regularly, and do a deep conditioner/leave-in conditioner. Then if you wanna straighten, make sure you put something on your hair prior to blow drying and flat ironing (infusium 23 or any type of hair gloss or moisturizing lotion.) Also, wrapping your hair at night should reduce the amt of time you have to place heat on your hair which is the main reason for the damage. use oil free moisturizers to moisturize your brittle hair b/c thats what it needs and you say that your hair gets oily so oil-free is the way to go. I know that Dudley's makes one call PCA and so does Mizani, these are more affordable. Sephora has some and so does carol's daughter (carols daughter has resonably priced items and you can order online.)

How do I keep my natural hair looking healthy? HELP!!?

I understand how that feels. I'm trying to do the same thing. I straightened my hair eevery week or else it would be a big poufy mess without any product in it. I had so many split and damaged ends. Finally I had to just cut it ans start with clean ends. What you should do is go to a hairstylist and have then trim your hair and give your a deep conditioner. Then regularly don't wash your hair too aften and don't blow dry/ flat iron too often. Find a leave in product that will moisturize your hair the best.

Does dying you're hair cause your natural color to change?

I have strawberry blonde hair and have never dyed it, and i was thinking of changing my color- Does hair dye change the color of the natural hair when growing back in?

Thank you*

Does dying you're hair cause your natural color to change?

No it doesnt. I have dyed my hair countless times and i still have the natural color regrowth, It never changes

Does dying you're hair cause your natural color to change?

For a red head, the answer seems to be yes!!! I started playing and it darkened right up, but I hear age does that too.

Does dying you're hair cause your natural color to change?

No, I think the dye will just grow out in about 6 weeks or so.

Does dying you're hair cause your natural color to change?

Yes it does change the natural color, as well as the texture, and other attributes.

Does dying you're hair cause your natural color to change?

No your hair will always be the color that you were given. Dye is only color and you will have to keep coloring it to maintain some other color than natural.

Does dying you're hair cause your natural color to change?

No it doesn't. But dyeing too much is not good for your hair, if its your first time then .......... go for it.

Does dying you're hair cause your natural color to change?

Yes It does change your natural hair color. But when your hair starts growing you begin to get roots. I would recommend you get your roots done about every 4-6 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows. Be sure to get it conditioned every time also so your locks stay healthy and shiny

Cosmetologist

Does dying you're hair cause your natural color to change?

It did to me. I dyed my hair about 9 1/2 months ago and my haired grew back a more blonde color it was dark brown before

Does dying you're hair cause your natural color to change?

wouldn't that be cool

How do I get a natural hair part? Pic included?

My Hair part is freaky! I have blonde curly hair. In the pics it is normal looking but I had hair clips and hairspray in how can I get a natural part (with out using hairspray) that looks like my pics? Help please!

http://www1.freewebs.com/msmariaandmskie...

Thanks

~Maria~

How do I get a natural hair part? Pic included?

wow your hair is sooo beautiful :)) im sooooooooo jealous i luv the curls. the color is pretty too but im not a big fan of blonde but for you its beautiful :) and for your question you have to train your hair. when you go to sleep (make sure your hair is dry) clip the sides of where you want it to be parted so if you want it in the middle clip the hairs on each side so it doesnt go wild and everything. and make sure its dry because if you clip your hair when its wet theres gonna be a weird crease on it. just do that for maybe 3 days and then it'll be trained to stay that way :))

How do I get a natural hair part? Pic included?

take a comb right after you get out of the shower, part it down your head where you want your part to be, and blow dry it on either side without touching the part. hopefully you understand what im trying to say lol

How do I get a natural hair part? Pic included?

ur hair is so pretty! .. when ur hair is wet just part it down the middle or side or where-ever it looks best and keep doing it then eventually it will stay like that...

How do I get a natural hair part? Pic included?

Umm I find that if I want my hair to always be parted in the same spot then every time I get out of the shower I part it immediatley. Give it a few weeks and it'll become natural.

How do I get a natural hair part? Pic included?

WOW

your hair is veryyyy pretty

i wish mine was naturally that curly and blond

no joke

but maybe when you straighten it, make a part how you want it, and stick to it, and then it will naturally go that wayy in a matter of time!!! good luck

Ahh your hair is gorgeous!

How do I cover up highlights/new growth/have my natural hair color back?

I got my hair highlighted last august. My hair has grown out about 2 or 3 inches. My natural hair color is a dirty blonde light brown color so I got highlights 1 or 2 shades lighter than my natural hair color. It is really annoying b/c my hair brown then basically blonde. I don't like it. Is there any way to cover up my hightlights or dye my hair to the exact color. So then they will be covered up or at least toned down. Because I'm not doing this again. And cutting my hair is not an option. NO BRITNEY SPEARS!!!

How do I cover up highlights/new growth/have my natural hair color back?

For something like this, I'd suggest going to a professional. If you try to cover it up with store-bought dye, yourself, you could end up turning those highlights a strange shade of green, or possibly worse. However, if you MUST do it yourself, make sure that it's a golden toned haircolor; nothing that says "ash" or "neutral" in the name of the color. Those with "ash" or "neutral" bases are more likely to come out looking blue, green, or what have you.

How do I cover up highlights/new growth/have my natural hair color back?

go to a salon so a pro can put a color on it that matches your natural.do not put a box color on it.if you do most likely it's not going to match, and it will damage your hair.

How do I cover up highlights/new growth/have my natural hair color back?

You should go to a professional salon in order to get it the color that you want. If you can't really afford that right now, you might try parting your hair in a zig-zag part, because that can disguise how far your roots have gone out, and it looks really cool because it's not the same old straight line. Hope you figure something out!

Home-made Natural Hair and Skin Product Preservatives?

Hi,

I've got a line of several hair and skin products made purely from ingredients that I can typically find at home.

I am now ready to package but need advice on how to properly preserve my final product.. all the ingredients I am using have tendancy to go bad fairly quickly once opened.

Any advice on a simple, most preferably natural, preservative that I can add so that foods such as fruit and/or veggies can last, for as long as possible.

I appreciate the feedback!!

Home-made Natural Hair and Skin Product Preservatives?

Not sure but was wondering about lemon juice or seasalt. I know I have seen skin scrubs made at home using seasalt. Good luck and great idea.

Home-made Natural Hair and Skin Product Preservatives?

Hey, sorry I don't really know of any preserving products for beauty care. But I did want to say cool idea! Would be glad to look into your products once you get them going. :) You'll have to update us.

How do u figure out your natural hair color if it isn't jus one solid color?

I've been dying my hair for a while..%26amp; i want to go back to my natural..which I think is light brown but i dont know because my natural color isnt one solid color..its light to medium brown with natural highlights all over so if i have the hair dresser dye it one solid color my roots are still going to come back darker and lighter in some spots??it isblonde towards the front and darker towards the back??help??

How do u figure out your natural hair color if it isn't jus one solid color?

What color was your hair as a child and teenager before you started coloring it? Look at some old pictures. THAT is your natural color.

How do u figure out your natural hair color if it isn't jus one solid color?

look at your pubes, underarms or eyebrows. the reason your hair colour was probably lighter in some places was because of exposure to the sun.

How do u figure out your natural hair color if it isn't jus one solid color?

when you dont color it at all it goes back to your natural color eventually

look in th mirror or ask a fiend

as to what that color is

i dont see the problem

Does soaking hair with water get rid of natural hair oils?

does soaking hair with water get rid of natural hair oils?

Does soaking hair with water get rid of natural hair oils?

No, thats why we use shampoo/soap. The oil "sticks" to the shampoo, it repels water. washing will cause some of the oil to drain off but if you only use water your hair will steal be "greasy". Your diet doesnt change that either, everyone has hair oils its natural, its there for a reason, to protect us from bacteria and parasites, and there is no way to get rid of it except how we always do it by washing.

Does soaking hair with water get rid of natural hair oils?

Im changing my hair from relaxed to natural,!!!?

Now my hair is 2 different textures and I dont know what to put in it or how to style it! Like about 3 inches of my hair is wavy and the rest is still relaxed. And since my natural hair was thick, my roots are thick and puffy!

Im changing my hair from relaxed to natural,!!!?

DaMM GIrL! I feel for you, I did the natural thing a few years back %26amp; I'm sorry to report that unless you have thin hair with loose kinks you're going to have to get your hair braided or take the plunge %26amp; cut all the relaxed hair off %26amp; go fro. Eventually the relaxed hair will start to break off %26amp; that can damage your new growth, so those are the best two choices. If you can get a press %26amp; curl that might buy you a few more months, but hot combs can damage your hair %26amp; change the texture - so you might be right back were you started.

I got individual braids w/synthetic curly hair (tied off at the end) %26amp; I loved them. They were easy to wash %26amp; required no serious maintenance. I'd get the front re-done every month %26amp; my whole head done every three months. I'd usually give my head a break %26amp; have an Afro for 2 or 3 weeks in between. Fro's are easy in a warm climate just wash - leave the conditioner in to dry %26amp; you're done. But eventually my hair got too long to braid %26amp; I'm lazy (my fro needed to be washed daily - not fun in the winter) so, back to fryin' %26amp; Dyein'. Good luck, there are allot more products %26amp; info for natural hair care out now - so at least your not alone. 7 years ago everyone thought I was crazy!

Im changing my hair from relaxed to natural,!!!?

Keep in mind that when you are between two textures your hair is likely to break off. You should either cut it or braid it until you have all natural hair and the perm is gone..

If you prefer to do neither, you can roller set your hair to make it curly , you can to twists like two strand twists.

You should cut out the perm since it is going to break off any way though.

Im changing my hair from relaxed to natural,!!!?

you can twist your hair, braid it, roller set it! Join Nappturality.com. It is a really good site for natural hair sister and those transitioning. You will like it! look for me on there!!

How do I care for my African American NATURAL HAIR?

I have ben growing my hair out for one year. I recently took my braids out and have decided to finally wear my natural hair. The problem is, I have had relaxed hair the majority of my life and I only know how to care for relaxed hair. How do I care for my newly natural hair? I need some tips! Thanks in advance!

How do I care for my African American NATURAL HAIR?

Curly/kinky hair needs moisture, moisture, and more moisture! . Avoid drying products such as hair spray, mousse, holding gels, etc. Opt for moisturizers, leave-in conditioners, and styling lotions. Black hair requires more oil. Look for natural oils and quality ingredients. Also when combing your hair use a wide tooth comb as oppose to fine. A fine tooth comb will just literaly rip your hair out plus it will hurt like heck.

How do I care for my African American NATURAL HAIR?

There are alot of "Natural" hair care products out there. Find one that fits your hair texture and style. You mainly want to keep your hair/scalp oiled and not dry. If it's dry it will break off easily and look damaged. Care for it just as you did your relaxed hair. Pantene's Relaxed and Natural line has a really good daily conditioner. Also, there's a product that adds extra Shine to your hair. Keep your ends trimmed and your hair will continue to grow. I think natural hair grows faster then relaxed. When I was younger my natural hair was thicker and longer then my hair now...

Why can't we talk about natural hair?

I have asked two different questions about African-American women with natural hair, and both times some people reported them, so they have been deleted. The first time was on the grounds that it was not a question (which it was) and the second time on the grounds that it was "chatting." Neither question was offensive or violated any of the rules, so what is the problem? Why does someone out there not want us to talk about natural hair? Are they threatened by the idea that curly African hair is beautiful?

Why can't we talk about natural hair?

who does that?????...LOL thats weird...what were your questions or statements ??????...if you tell me i can tell you why maybe someone might of done it

Why can't we talk about natural hair?

how am I suppose to know what they are thinking? Natural hair is fine though.

Why can't we talk about natural hair?

It depends on how you ask the question perhaps. I would have a better understanding on answering your question by observing the original question. Other than, there should be no problem for answers you have about natural hair.

Why can't we talk about natural hair?

That's what she said.

Why can't we talk about natural hair?

I cant imagine why people don't want to talk about black hair. people have talked about all kinds of race issues on yahoo! anyway, i've asked a question about possibly getting my hair permed tomorrow because i want a new haircut. i am hoping someone will be willing to answer my question, not because they are black or white, but because they have an opinion that could help me.

i think black hair is beautiful and i don't think anyone is threatened by that. if anything, most people think long staight hair is beautiful, thats the standard. i like my hair curly. i just want to try something different. at this point, i think i'm going to stick with my natural hair. long live my fro.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

I've come across A LOT of comments on Black women's hair. I'm a Black woman so I'm going to speak on it and would appreciate feedback from people, Black, White, or otherwise.

Point blank, we live in a country that tells us that the standard of beauty is Eurocentric. Many people of color, grow up thinking their brown skin or kinky hair is "unmanageable," "un professional," "ugly." They believe this because WAY back in slavery times, this was put in the head of our ancestors. Then, a Black woman invented the perm so Black women (and men back then) could "manage" their unruly hair.

Unfortunately, many sisters still believe this myth, that natural hair is unattractive, hard to manage and can't be worn at work. These are all lies. The brainwashing has been passed down from generation to generation. If you want to perm your hair, fine more power to you, but do it cause you want to, not to rationalize by saying otherwise your "nappy" hair can't be managed cause thats bullsh*t.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

hey, i hear you on the issue.

i tried perming my hair but it always fell out. there was one time i had severe burns on my scalp from a kiddie perm left in for 45 minutes. after 2 years of weaves and trying to grow my hair out, it was gone in 3 weeks.

so, i went back to weaves for 6 years. damn, it's hot when you're trying to work out!!! but i always felt fake, and i felt embarassed when people told me they liked my hair, or when sisters asked me where i got my weave, who did it, etc.

i was really scared to make the transition because i work in a professional environment, and i was scared to take my weave off. my hairdresser then set me straight: she said that black women need to get over themselves in what they think white people will think about their hair. yes, some are ignorant, and in many ways it's because they are not used to seeing natural hair. we've tried to look like them for years, and all of a sudden we're going natural and expect them to 'understand'. yes, there are cultural problems, but we've done a poor job of making them 'get it' by trying to assimilate. it's our job to educate them. you walk into your office proud of your hair with it neat and clean, and no one will care. at most they will be curious or think it's exotic. maybe some won't like it, but they will get used to it. get over yourself.' ouch. but she was right.

so i finally said screw it, and i got sisterlocks. i sat down with my coworkers, explained what i was about to do and that my hair was not really my hair and showed them pictures of natural hair on the internet. it made the shock of the transition a lot easier for me. my parents called me and begged me not to lock my hair. they are still very old school in their thinking that all locks look like bob marley's. after it was done, they really liked it.

but the strange thing was, right after i locked it and was all pro-natural, circumstances changed at work and i decided to start looking for another job. my immediate reaction was 'omg!!! will anyone hire me with my hair like this?' it was insane! as it turned out, i had no issues with any of my interviews (none of the companies i interviewed for had any other black employees), and in my new job, i have this one woman who keeps touching my hair (i need to talk to her about it).

in terms of manageability, i have never done anything easier. i would never go back, and not a day goes by where i regret my decision.

i did some research on relaxers and realized that it is the equavalent of pouring liquid draino on your head (they both have similar ingredients and the same pH balance). it was invented by a slave who accidentally spilled chemicals used in sewing machines on his arm. it burned him, but it also straightened the hair on his arm. and i am putting that stuff on my head next to my brain? the skin does absorb this stuff and it goes into the bloodstream (think of topical medications). people have died relaxing their hair. no wonder i was losing mine! if you look at people who have been relaxing their hair for years, many have significant hair loss and irreparable damage. the weave/fake hair industry is making the koreans quite rich. it's a personal decision, but those are the reasons why i stopped and am quite happy being nappy.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

ALL WOMEN want a hair type or style other than what is on their head. That is why Clairol, Revlon, etc. are so rich!!. Curly wants straight, straight wants body, brown wants blond, red heads want black and around and around. Report It

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

I think it the pressure of white culture bearing down them....

as it always has....

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

I have no idea. I find their hair lovely, and don't understand why they try to change the texture.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

Almost every television show, every commercial, and every picture advertisement that has anything to do, or has women in it shows white women and their hair. Have you noticed that almost every advertisement that does have Black women in it shows her with dreadlocks, or a frizzy style, or straight hair? Also, have you noticed you never see a black woman's natural hair on tv or in magazines unless it has something to do with the 60s or early 70s?

Black women have been made to see their features and hair as ugly by the whites. Also it would be hard for a black woman to walk into a job interview with her natural hair style. To whites an Afro, or natural hair on a black woman or man makes it seem like we are protesting against something (meaning white establishment) or we are trying to make a statement about something. This is why Black women straighten their hair and black men shave off their hair.

BTW isn't it funny (in a not so pleasant way) that our natural hair state is interpreted as "protesting" or making a statement? It's sad that even in our naturalness we are demonized

.

Life is sad.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

I go for chick who just prefer to be themselves. But, I feel it's important for people (regardless of gender/race) to keep in mind that getting a perm is not mutually exclusive with being themselves.

Of course no one knows what is in your head; but you truly know. If you do it to "fit-in" then I would say your lame. But if you do it because you want to try it-it is perfectly reasonable to view it as trying a different hair style-which people casually do every day in salons world wide.

I'm a white guy. For some reason, even though my parents are white, I inherited hair like that of a African. It is rough, course and grows towards the sun-it will never lay down or straighten out! When I was in my early teens I hated this and would actually go to a Black hair salon to get my hair chemically straightened. It still didn't look that great but I constanly tried to "mold" myself after my white friends. Even my black friends would crack on me because they shaved their head to keep it clean-looking while mine froed out!

My first year of college, this is 97' mind you, a girl from west Angoloa Africa started pursuing me. One of the things she loved was my "African" hair. Although we split after a year and a half (her family was impossible-I had no tolerance for it back then) she made me feel great about my hair.

Next thing you know, N'Sync was big-I got my fro curled like Justin; after that died out, the hippie "fro" look became popular and I picked-up chicks suffice to say!

Point is: wear it with pride. I see a lot of fine Black women here in NYC and they do straighten their hair-I wish I could see them all naturale!

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

I ask my self that all the time. I have heard lots of excuses, the most popular being "straight hair is easier to manage" ... but I dont call spending 4 to 8 hours and 60 to 100 a week "easy."

here is a really interesting story: I was dating this girl for few years. So one day we were at a bar and we run into one of my old female friends. Now, my old friend is poster child for Black beauty. The girl I was dating was visibly in secure and basically mad, by the time my friend walked away. When I asked her what was worng, she says "nothing, I just dont like her" I say: "why?" And she says "because shes natural, and I know that is what you like"

hmmm......

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

This is a really valid issue, and one that's saddened me a lot recently. Women of color have natural hair that is so diverse and beautiful, and unfortunately, they are taught from so young an age that their hair is "too rough" or "too wild" or "too African." I always wonder why they are taught against those things, like they are bad. :(

The problem is that so many women have been told for so long that the only way to be "beautiful" is to be fair-skinned, sleek-haired, smooth-skinned and slim. How boring and restrictive! Unfortunately, women of color are taught these lessons from such a young age, and these ideals are reinforced time and time again throughout our lives. Our mothers teach us how to "manage" our unruly hair, if you go natural, men ask ,"what's up with your hair? it's so rough/frizzy/wild," and everywhere we look, we see images of dewy, smooth "beauty."

Until we learn to accept our bodies and ourselves as beautiful, we'll have to live with these burdens. And even more sadly, in our efforts to mold ourselves into this stupid (and impossible) ideal, we'll be forced to cover up and hide the beauties that we in actuality possess.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

I have seen some beautiful children of mixed parents in Los Angeles who have the most gorgeous naturally curly hair.

I heard an interview with Don King, who mentioned how one night when he was sleeping, the ends of his hair suddenly became alive with astonishing energy and began to unravel and move according to the rhythm of the energy, and I have since learned that torque is a twisting force of energy. I sometimes wonder if the kinks in natural curls is some kind of energy untapped...

I think natural hair is beautiful no matter what race or kind. The children of mixed parents I have seen in large cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco have stopped me in my tracks with their beauty.

I'm thinking maybe it's not shame, but the pain each person suffers in trying to comb and tame that hair. My daughter has a bit of natural curl to her hair, and she cries something awful when we comb those tangles out. I can't let it just go, because the tangles make her hair look messy. We love those curls, so we try the best we can to make them come out. But it hurts her so. I can understand how some girls with more kink to their curls would want to straighten their hair or have corn rows forever, just so they don't have to suffer the pain of everyday combing.

But I do agree with you. I have seen some really beautiful natural hair, and it should be let out more often.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

They should not be ashamed of their naturally kinky hair (you should be ashamed of using the term "nappy", doing this just cost Don Imus his job), or the other racial features that blacks have. Blacks are beautiful. And blacks should never attempt to look more "white." Blacks should avoid being "white" in any way, in fact. They need to retain their own identity, and stay separate from whites, and other races, in all ways. One way to do this is to display their kinky hair to the fullest.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

I think you answered your own question. Beauty is defined as Eurocentric in American society. So many don't want to believe that subconciously, they adhere to that standard.....paper thin hair that blows in the breeze is more beautiful than thick, kinky curls.

I must admit I did for a while...now, my hair isn't natural, but it's not because I don't want to. Being biracial, my mother was at a loss on how to handle my hair when I was a little girl. She put excessively tooooo strong relaxers in my hair to try to tame it because she didn't know how to take care of my hair since it was much thicker than hers. After so many years, the damage is startinf to finally be undone, but I have to admit now that I don't know what to do with it when its natural anymore...I'd look like a bad shampoo commercial without my flat iron.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

I am a lesbian. I personally find natural Black hair to be VERY attractive on a woman... I love curly hair in general, and Black hair is THE curliest... :)

When we were together, I shared an apt with my ex-GF, who is Black, a few years ago. I loved being able to touch her hair when we were being close because it was soo soft and full and lovely...

Of course it took me like two months of telling her i thought her hair was BEAUTIFUL before she let me do it.

She thought her hair was nappy too, and was afraid to let me touch it at all at first...!

But after i assured her i really DID like the look and feel of it, she became more comfortable with it ...and more comfortable with letting her hair go natural around me :) !!

I'm not Black, but i think the negative hype around Black hair on women is a generational insecurity compounded by contemporary influences...

But all these negative perspectives on Black women's hair are just lame, sorry excuses for people to maintain negative feelings about Black-ness... Think about it...

Even those who have Black hair still manage to internalize these negative feelings about Blackness which have been imposed on and internalized by generation after generation of Americans (black, white, yellow, etc)

But I say to you all...Build your bridge and get over it !!

Black hair is friggin LOVELY :)

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

In my case not at all I wear my natural hair proudly. I don't think that women should necessarily stop getting their hair straighten but their mentality about their natural hair should change. Over years, Black people in this country have been put down and label inferior because of the physical features we were born with. In the media there are mostly White people, the few Blacks all have European hairstyles, this creates an opinion in the Black community that straight hair equals beauty. Some Black women that in order to attract the opposite sex they have to have long straight hair. Also think about the work force most companies say that Afros, cornrows, locs etc.. are unprofessional so Black women feel pressure to conform for their career advancement. It's a complex issue but at the end of the day everyone has the right to their opinion, hopefully a day will come were Black people and all races are TRULY thought of as equal.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

You are absolutely correct; I'm transitioning now. I also feel that if I was meant to have straight hair I would have been born with it

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

well in Louisiana...its usually in the upper 90's in the summer, and a lot of black women just dont want to risk having all of their hair break off because it is soo dry...i have heard that black women cant wash their hair everyday like other races can...because their hair will eventually dry up and break...however, many black women choose to get perms and such and they can manage their hair that way by putting more moisturizer in their hair. Then again, many black women just say "To hell with it" and they put on a scalp cap and and fix up a weave...but there are the select few black women who have good natural hair that can be easily managed.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

OMG! This is like the debate between self-righteous stay at home moms who don't want someone else raising their children and working moms who want to use their degrees rather than let their brains atrophy. People make choices that are right for them. Period. You seem to have difficulty believing that some women simply prefer to perm their hair, and that they make this choice without regard to what society tells them they should do.

It's akin to someone asking you why you "talk white" instead of like a sister. You're conforming to our society's Eurocentric speech patterns, rather than embracing your true black self and speaking like black people are supposed to talk. And the answer is simple. You choose to speak proper English because it's what works for you. Period. You don't do it to impress people, to be taken more seriously, to show off. You just do it. And you are probably genuinely puzzled -- not to mention insulted -- when people say that "you don't sound black."

Why not ask women why they wear make-up, heels, and perfume? Or, why they don't? I think you've given this much more thought than many of the women you accuse of buying into a lie. What you've done works for you now, but for a long time it didn't. You made a change that you now want all other black women to make, but that's not realistic. Even after reading all you have to say, many will simply continue to perm their hair because they like the way it looks. No more, no less.

Give those ladies a break, girl!

Addendum:

Actually, it IS a debate, because you begin your "discussion" with a false premise: that all black women are ashamed of their natural hair. That is not true, although you believe it to be, and you then recite all the reasons they should not be -- whether they are or not!

Thanks, you have a good day, too! ;-)

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

You are a double talker or better yet you speak from both sides of your mouth. You answered one of my questions by saying black people should be weary of giving there kids black names because the white establishment would not hire them because of ethnic names. Maybe the white establishment wouldn't hire black women for wearing naturally ethnic hair as well. You can't pick and choose topics to speak on. If you are going to be militant on one you have to be militant on all topics. Would you go to an interview with those afro puffs? I bet i would get a job quicker with a name like Shaquintan than you with the afropuffs. Deep well not really. Peace and love You really need to learn how to bet the game than complain. I'm a hood brother wit no college degree. Yet I am an executive and still very much a brother. I went threw your stage for many years. I lost many jobs and many friends as well. Then I learned the best way to win the game is to play the game with knowledge not emotion. Look at my questions and answers and you will see despite the fact that I have a fade and would rather wear a suit. I'm very much a bother. I learned how to beat the game and stopped the game beat me. You at the good stage and that's great. your mad at something but the way your expressing yourself is not going to get you anywear. This is Malcolm X learned before he died. Your argument are so shallow and not worth there weight. if a sister changed the lives of 3000 young black youths but wore a perm would it matter. If a nother sister wore dreads and acted militant but never helped herself and others would she be better to you. Think a whole more deeper. instead of understanding start overstanding what it TRULY means to be black. Because you don't know yet.

Why are Black women ashamed of their natural hair?

You typed alot...thanks anyway..lol

What is natural hair?

if u get ur hair straighten would it still be natural

What is natural hair?

Natural hair is the hair that God blessed you with. That means no chemicals to make it a different texture. Some people, however, consider any hair that is real (no extentions or weaves) to be natural. It depends on who you're talking to and the content that you're speaking of.

What is natural hair?

Nope.If your hair isn't naturally straight then how is that natural?

What is natural hair?

of course it would hun its still your hair it isnt unnatural to have a different style.

What is natural hair?

if you get your hair chemically straightened it's the opposite of a perm. You still get outgrowth from it as well. It's still "natural." But remember, if your hair is curly, you can blow it out straight and flat iron it (using a heat protectant on your hair of course) and you can wear it curly. When you chemically straighten it you dont have the natural looking curl anymore, it's more like a wave.

What is natural hair?

Natural hair is hair which has not been permed or chemically altered in amy way.

What is natural hair?

Natural hair is plain. No dyes, chemicals added. And no if you straighten your hair it is not natural because thats not how hair is when you get out of the shower. Is it?

Back to Natural hair!!!?

I have relaxed hair and I want to go back natural how should I start and what about crochet braid and corn rolls be good.

Back to Natural hair!!!?

I have gone from relaxed to natural about six times now since high school (I'm 26) and I have found braids of all sorts are the key in feeling good about your hair and appearance during the transition. I would warn you though however long it takes you to grow your hair out, the relaxed ends will eventually break off. It won't happen all at once, but after I got a few inches of new growth I just got them cut off. It made for faster braiding time when I went into the salon and I could moisturize the hair that mattered and not waist product on the hair that was going to break off. I always loved having braids because you wake up looking perfect everyday with no nonsense. Natural hair takes some work but the results are beautiful. Good Luck to you!

Back to Natural hair!!!?

wash ur hair and dont blow it out. let it air dry, then u can braid it..

hope this helps!

Back to Natural hair!!!?

The most efficient way to go back to natural is to cut it all off. Not only is it cute and liberating, but it is an authentic tribal style.

Back to Natural hair!!!?

Getting back to natural hair is like taking braids down: you have to cut it all off. Your hair is going to break off once it is not relaxed again.

Dirty blonde natural hair or bleached blonde? which is better?

person is tall and slim with brown eyes. currently has dirty blonde hair (their natural colour) with bleached blonde highlights.

Dirty blonde natural hair or bleached blonde? which is better?

-You always have roots

-People know that your hairs fake

I have a little lighter that dirty blonde and people always complement me on my hair and I never dye it so I look great.

Also it would look great with your eyes

Dirty blonde natural hair or bleached blonde? which is better?

no need to do anyth leave it natural or put some dark brown only three steaks

Dirty blonde natural hair or bleached blonde? which is better?

dirty blonde, especially at the roots. too blonde hair looks fake and sickly.

Dirty blonde natural hair or bleached blonde? which is better?

I'd say dirty blond with a couple of highlights to brighten it up is better than completely bleached blond. It would also be a lot lower maintenance.

Dirty blonde natural hair or bleached blonde? which is better?

bleached hair is uuuuuglyy.

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

Well... I think it's light brown or dark blonde. I had my hair bleached for many years and when the roots started to grow out they looked so dark that I assumed I had black hair like my father. Fast forward a few years and I randomly decided to dye my hair black. After all, that was my natural color, right? Oh, nooo... As the roots started to grow out it was very obvious that my hair is much lighter than black. Finally (fast forward a few more years) I decided to go back to my natural color and ended up spending a small fortune at a salon to do so, since black is so hard to get out. Unfortunately, the stylist made it a bit more red than intended, so now you can see those darn light brown roots coming back in. Oh, well. I'm letting it grow out. Hair dye may have been fun for a while, but now that I'm older it's just a pain in the butt - besides, I have nothing to hide (I hope!)

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

my natural hair color is black

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

never dyed it and its like a medium to dark brown

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

not sure...I've been dying it blond for 20 years.

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

Its probably a light brown, but I have been dying my hair so long and so many different shades, that I am not really sure.

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

Natural:black

Dyed:brown with golden blonde highlights.

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

Auburn.

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

i got dark brown hair..really gorgeous

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

My natural hair color is dark brown. But in the summer time it gets really light from being outside all the time. Right now it's got some red in it because I put a rinse on it.

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

I first started dying my hair when I was twelve from my natural medium brown to reds and purples. I went blonde when I was 15 until 17, where I dyed my hair dark brown. Now I haven't dyed my hair for three years, and it's in the best condition it's ever been. It's a lovely medium-brown colour with natural blonde bits in it (free highlights :D) and I won't be dying my hair again until I start to turn grey lol!

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

I just recently started dying my hair. The original color is medium brown.

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

My natural hair color is black but it changes colors

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

Blond to light brown, not too sure because I can find every color except gray. Never used a permanent dye and don't ever plan on it.

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

My hair is naturally red...but every couple of months i put crazy highlights in it like purple or electric orange it's awsome

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

Naturally a medium brown!

And Brunettes DO HAVE MORE FUN! ;)

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

Chestnut-brown I think....

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

My natural hair color is mostly auburn, however; the color changes with the my age, the season, and with different processes that are applied to it, which makes it a streaked or highlighted unique color.

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

my hair color is copper brown

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

blonde, with natural highlights

For girls only, what is your natural hair color?

an odd reddish-black owing to my Scottish heratige - I get accused of dying it and wearing colored contacts, it is very insulting

Ideas for natural hair sytles???

Hi, I have natural shoulder length hair. I want to find a style to wear that is easy on my edges, low maintenance and can be worn for an extended period of time. Does such a style exist? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ideas for natural hair sytles???

My hair is natural and is past my shoulders. I usually wear my hair in individual twists or braids. I prefer the twists as it is easier to take out in my opinion and I like the way the twists look after wards. I wear my twists (without extensions) for up to 2 weeks and then they get frizzy. Otherwise, you can get them with extensions and they'll last 2-3 times as long. You can also wear a floppy afro, which is what I do, depending on your hair texture. You're right, anything pulling at your hairline or edges will pull your hair right out. Try the website nappturality.com - they have a wealth of info. about natural hair and styles.

How to stimulate natural hair oil?

Is there any ways to stimulate the hair natural oil? Does enhancing blood circulation helps?

My scalp is extremely dry and is causing dandruff problems. My hair don't even get oily after 4 days without washing; I only get more drandruff and itchy.

How to stimulate natural hair oil?

Warm 2oz of olive oil, add 5 drops of lavendar oil and 5 drops of orange oil (if you can't find orange oil a little orange zest will work but you need to let the mixture rest for about 5 minutes before using then)shake together in a tint applicator bottle (about 2 bucks). Using a natural boar bristle brush, throughly brush scalp in an upward motion for about 5 minutes (you don't need to brush your scalp hard, just enough to feel it and get the blood circulating to the area more) then apply the oil just to the scalp using the the applicator, then massage the oils into your scalp for about 5 to 10 minutes. Let oils remain on scalp for another 10 minutes. Apply shampoo to scalp before wetting hair, then wet and workk shampoo into a lather (it will not lather much due to the oil) rinse and shampoo hair again then condition. Doing this once or twice a month should make a big difference in your scalp's condition.

How to stimulate natural hair oil?

You will have to add oil to your hair.

How to stimulate natural hair oil?

I read that on the internet once that massaging the root downwards (with your hands)helps realise oils from the the scalp

How to stimulate natural hair oil?

To stimulate your natural oils you can use your finger tips and massage your scalp in a circular motion. You can also use a hair brush to massage your scalp.

* You can also use pure peppermint oil mixed w/ equal part olive oil to increse the circulation to your scalp.Just massage the oil into your scalp and then brush your hair, its feels sooo good!

How to stimulate natural hair oil?

people use to brush their hair 100 x a day.

this stimulates the oil and is carried thru the strands during the brushing.

Thick natural african american hair?

Have you ever thought of putting your hair in braids? That might give you a look that you'll like, with or without extensions, depending on your preference. There are so many different styles.

Also, depending on where you live (or how close you are to a metropolitan area) you may want to check out a hair dresser that works with natural African American hair. That way, he/she can try out different styles on you.

All the best.

Iwant my natural hair color back!!!!?

Please i need help, i use to be a blode for a while. and now i'm a really dark burnette. and i really want my natural hair color back so what is the quickest way of doing that? shold i try to match it up and color it at home. or go to a saloon. a really don't know what to do! HELP!!!

Iwant my natural hair color back!!!!?

You didn't mention what your natural color is, but I assume its lighter than the color you are currently. You cant go lighter by coloring over hair that has already been colored. You will have to have a hairdresser remove some of that color with a color extractor-NOT BLEACH, its too damaging- then recolor with the shade of hair that you have naturally. This could fade a bit so use a professional color retention shampoo. You may need to repeat coloring in 1-3 months but if you keep using the good shampoo and conditioner, you shouldn't need to repeat the coloring again and your lovely natural shade will be yours once more.

Iwant my natural hair color back!!!!?

Definitely go to a salon because you could end up messing it up pretty bad.

Iwant my natural hair color back!!!!?

DO NOT try and dye your hair color back yourself. That's the quickest way to hate your hair even more. Go to a salon, tell the stylist your conundrum, and she should be able to give you solutions. It will probably take longer than normal, as he/she will have to take out the dark brown in order to dye your hair blonde.

Iwant my natural hair color back!!!!?

You're best bet is to go to a salon, cuz they not only can match %26amp; dye it, but they can also strip the old color thats left out. alot of over-the-counter strippers/dyes are harsher than they use in salons. Also, they'll know if it needs to be treated to reverse any damage that may have been done. good luck!

Iwant my natural hair color back!!!!?

I am a natural blonde and i decided to go dark burgandy with a wash out color with my second pregnancy it washed out to a gross strawberry blonde and I hated it. If you go to a beauty supply store they can help you with the right stuff and purchase a color stripper this should take you down to a almost white color then I went and purchased the color closest to my natural and dyed it back. Now I had to dye it twice to get it back to the natural color and have never colored my hair sense. Remember between stripping it and coloring it you need to give it time to renourish itself this is very hard on your hair so use lots of conditioners and wait the time period it says or you can really fry your hair.

Iwant my natural hair color back!!!!?

GO TO A PROFESSIONAL SALON! DON'T TAKE ANY CHANCES ON MESSING IT UP!

How do I go from fading red hair to my natural colour?

I have spent years dyeing my (naturally mousey blond) hair quite dark shades of red (mahogany, and plum). I decided some months ago that enough was enough and got the red hair covered with a medium brown, plus some highlights to help blend my lighter natural hair as it grew at the root. My regrowth is a couple of inches long now, and I still have some traces of auburn-ish hair throughout, especially at the ends of my hair.

Is it possible to cover up this haircolour once and for all with a natural shade? Will it take the colour, or would I have to lighten all over first?

How do I go from fading red hair to my natural colour?

Wait until your hair grows out enough to get all those ends cut off and still be able to style it to your liking.

In the meantime you should try temporary rinses that will match the ENDS of your hair. The darker ends will NOT accept a light temporary color.

That way your hair will be a bit more uniform in color, until you get a haircut.

How do I go from fading red hair to my natural colour?

there is a product the will strip your hair of all colour you can get it at a hairdressing wholesalers.

then you can start again and put what ever colour you like in

How do I go from fading red hair to my natural colour?

You can go to 5 different salons and get 5 different answers. your best bet is to trim off the ends to minimalize the red as much as possible. Or you can just keep highlighting the red little by little until it is gone. I go to Sally's beauty supplies, they have products that washout after about 6 shappoos, this way you don't have a permanant commitment. I love it.

I have natural black hair, and I want use semi permanent color. How do I use it?

I want to turn my black natural hair to brown. I have no chemicals in my hair, but I want use brow semi- permanent color. What shade of brown should I use %26amp; I really don't know much about semi- permanent color. Help!!

I have natural black hair, and I want use semi permanent color. How do I use it?

I have black hair too - make sure you buy about 3 shades lighter of a brown you want, otherwise, it'll just get a little lighter, but not much

A dark brown or an auburn looks really cute, and if you have a paler face, a hazel color would look cute too

I have natural black hair, and I want use semi permanent color. How do I use it?

go to a hairdresser and ask,

OR find i light brown colour

because your black hair will be harder to dye.

I have natural black hair, and I want use semi permanent color. How do I use it?

semi permanent color won't make your hair lighter only darker.

So it's not going to work. The most you can get with semi permanent on dark hair is kind of an iridescent sheen it's not going to get any lighter.

I have natural black hair, and I want use semi permanent color. How do I use it?

semi-permanent color can't lighten. natural black hair will get no effect with semi-permanent color. in order for you to get lighter at all, you would have to use a permanent color.

I have natural black hair, and I want use semi permanent color. How do I use it?

I don't think semi-permanent colour will give you the effect you want, there will probably be no difference to see. You would need to use permanent colour; however, in that case, the brown tones will only show up in sunlight. If you want a noticeable effect, you need to first lighten your hair a few shades, then colour it brown over top. Black hair can be a bit tricky, unfortunately.

I have natural black hair, and I want use semi permanent color. How do I use it?

well to be honest i have jet black hair i have used semi permanent a few times....obviously you dont want to go to the salon cuz you wouldnt be here askin us right lol but i would say try a top brand name semi permanent hair color..go with the a middle brown color...or light brown color...the color grid would be on the back of the box and show you how ur hair would look afterwards...and the key for it to work is how long you keep the rinse in ur hair....the box might tell you 20mins but keep it in for about 40 mins...and it wont damage ur hair because it doesnt have alcohol or peroxide in it...so keep it in for a long time....

THERES NO HARM IN TRY'N A RINSE COMPARED TO PERMANENT HAIR DYE!!!!

I have dark dyed hair and I want my natural hair color back.....?

I have heard of stripping the color from your hair....I know that I can get it done Prof. but I just wanted to know whether or not I should do that or wait it out. Also, How can I get it done..If I do...and it be one even color...no blotches....

I want my exact color back too, so would i have to get it dyed back to my natural color or would It just be my natural color if the dye got taken out

additional details:

My plan is to quit dying my hair COMPLETELY but I have dyed over the black...an auburn color so my hair is brown(nat. color, then reddish, then black) and since I want it to be FULLY even, what is my best bet???

I have dark dyed hair and I want my natural hair color back.....?

Ok so it really depends alot on the kind of colors you have been using. If its drugstore color it will be harder to strip then salon coloring would be. Also it depends on the color you are trying to go to. If its is still a fairly dark shade (not blonde) then that will make the process alot more do able. So first off go to a salon to have it done. Your cant possibly see the back of your head properly or move at the speed of a hairdresser can so getting them to strip your hair is the safest bet. and then just make sure before they start the process that they match a color swatch to the roots of your hair that you have exposed so you can get the closest match as possible. Hope that helps! good luck

I have dark dyed hair and I want my natural hair color back.....?

i'd go get it done professionally to get the right color, a longer lasting color that wont fade so quickly and an even color!

Does anyone know what kind of natural hair Posh face brushes are made of?

I recently bought this face brush by Posh, and the packaging indicates that it's made with the highest quality natural hair. I visited their website, and didn't find any information about this, and I'd like to know what kind of natural hair they use to make their brushes because since it's made in China there's no telling what animals could've gotten hurt in the making of it so, if you own or know about Posh brushes and ofcourse, what kind of natural hair they use to make them please, let me know. Again, the website doesn't explain any of this and I know most companies would tell you either in the packages, or on their sites, and I haven't use my brush yet which means that I can return it if I can't find any info. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know what kind of natural hair Posh face brushes are made of?

Posh is a brand of Kabuki face brushes and they use all natural squirrel hair!

When straigtening natural black hair, what do i put in my hair?

which ceramic irons

heat protectants jell or anything that wont ruin my natural hair state

When straigtening natural black hair, what do i put in my hair?

Use cholestrerol, u can get it any beauty store, or even walmart. It helps protect your hair and strenghtens it. Do it after you wash it.

When straigtening natural black hair, what do i put in my hair?

Use a pressing oil before you flat iron. I've never heard of using cholesterol as the first person answered...because cholesterol is a type of conditioner...?

When straigtening natural black hair, what do i put in my hair?

use a cholesterol conditioner and a tiny bit of pressing grease, if you use to much your will be 2 greasy and not look nice

When straigtening natural black hair, what do i put in my hair?

I have naturally dark brown/almost black hair. I use the following after washing my hair to straighten it.

1)Chi Keramist (leave-in), spray in damp hair and comb out 2) Depending on length, Chi OIL w/Paul Mitchell Skinny -blend togther and work into hair starting from the ends up. Be careful not to over do it on the scalp - will make it look oily and weigh it down 3) Blow out/dry with Round brush. 4) When ready to straighten it, use Chi Heat Protector - Prevents heat damage/breakage and burning your hair.

After you're done straightening, you can spray a shine mist mid way to ends of hair to add more shine. Be sure to hold spray abou 4 inches away from hair.

Can natural hair be rodded?

I want rods but i have natural hair that is pressed is it possible for me to get rods

Can natural hair be rodded?

You can do it with out the perm, but it won't be smooth, if you are looking for that look. You should get a good setting lotion and a hooded dryer and try it out one day, for kicks, when you don't have to be anyplace paticular. I rod my human hair extentions, just for pizzazz. AND DON'T FORGET THE END PAPERS! They are key.

Can natural hair be rodded?

My husband has a rod

Can natural hair be rodded?

Check out www.naturallycurly.com

Can natural hair be rodded?

You will have to take your time and make sure all the hair that going to rolled is smooth around each rod, it should be rolled with a setting lotion. It's going to take time. Whay don't you use the pastic magnetic rollers?

How can I get my natural hair back after chemically straightening it?

I'm regretting getting my hair straightened two months ago which has severely damaged my hair. Now, I want my natural wavy hair back. Is there any way I can make the chemicals go away faster? Cutting my hair is not an option since it is still fairly short (medium length).

How can I get my natural hair back after chemically straightening it?

Unfortunately, there is no way to remove the chemicals. You have to cut off the hair you straightened.

You can transition out of the straight look by setting your hair on rollers to get the curly/wavy look back while periodically trimming off the ends. I wouldn't recommend curling your hair with a curling iron since it is already damaged.

There are many things you can do to maximize the growth of your hair; that way your natural waves will grow out more quickly. Try drinking lots of water, fruits and veggies, healthy protein, a multivitamin, scalp massage. Basically, the healthier your body is, the faster your hair will grow, *but* most people will only grow 1/2" a month at best. Still, that could be a whole new head of hair pretty soon if your hair is medium length.

Hope this helps, Kaya

How can I get my natural hair back after chemically straightening it?

Glad you found my answer helpful. Report It

How can I get my natural hair back after chemically straightening it?

u have to wait till u get new growth

it will take some time

How can I get my natural hair back after chemically straightening it?

unfortunately, you're just gonna have to let it grow out. don't put anymore chemicals in it, but wash it as you normally would with an extra moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. also use a leave in conditioner. it's important that you not let your hair get too dry and weak during the transition. if you wanna match the natural hair with the straightening, you can either flat iron the new growth, or not do anything to the chemically treated part (if that makes sense), so it will not be so straight. i hope this help, and best of luck!

My natural hair is so OC! (outta control) What can I do to it?

My natural hair at the roots is like slave nappy and then the rest is wavy!!!! It's soooooo thick!!! What can I quote: "I" (not a the beauty salon!) do to it?!

My natural hair is so OC! (outta control) What can I do to it?

Ok first, why are you calling your hair slave nappy? That sounds very ignorant. Don't insult your natural hair that way. There is no reason to feel so negatively about your hair. You need to forget what society or other ignorant people have told you about your hair. That is nothing but internalized racism and self-hate. We all need to let that mess go. Don't let other people define you!

Second, why don't you talk to a stylist that specializes in natural hair. I would reccommend Miss Jessie's Buttercreme, or this product called Kinky-Curly. But that is if you choose to embrace your texture and wear it. Visit the links, you have options.

My natural hair is so OC! (outta control) What can I do to it?

honestly, you need to relax your roots if you want long manageable hair. if your doing it at home you must be very very very very careful and use the most sensitive one ever.. and even that's not gauranteed. don't damaged your hair as to have it fall off.

opera winfrey has very thick hair.. you might be able to pick up some of her hair duos. her hair is gorgeous.

honestly, a professional needs to do your hair.
