How do I find my natural hair color again?

For the past 3 years or so, I've been dying my hair every 2 or 3 months. Amazingly, my hair isn't damaged. Probably due to tons of deep conditioning. But Since June, I've been trying to get my hair back to the natural color. I've tried 3 or 4 different colors, but none of them match. They always look really close to my roots, but it's mainly cause my hair has ashy colors in it. Will I have to keep dying it to find the natural color again? Or what do I do? My hairs thinning out at the bottom. Help, please!

well you could let your hair grow out till its fully natrual hair colour is back or shave it all of but thats allway out of the question.

i also belive there are some treatments you can buy to take dye's out of your hair but i think they can b harsh if you have easily damaged hair but im sure with all the dye-ing your hair could manage it.

oh no..you need to stop dying it then...those ends are going to break off...thats exactly what happened to me...just leave it alone and let the natural color grow back in...you can do it....thats exactly what i am doing.....slowly but surely....your hair will grow....no more dying..promise! :)

I had the same problem. I finally just let my natural hair color grow out. I would only use non permanent dye to blend the bottom color with my natural color,it never totally matches when you try to dye it your natural color though. Let it grow and keep trimming the dyed part off. Good luck

i have had this problem a lot before. I had to let my hair grow out and get threw the embarrassing faze. i then cut it to where the natural stuff was all that was left. However if you do go to a colorist you should be able to get pretty darn close to your hair color.
