if you get your hair chemically straightened it's the opposite of a perm. You still get outgrowth from it as well. It's still "natural." But remember, if your hair is curly, you can blow it out straight and flat iron it (using a heat protectant on your hair of course) and you can wear it curly. When you chemically straighten it you dont have the natural looking curl anymore, it's more like a wave.
