Is there such a thing as natural hair dye. I worry about all those chemicals and what they might be doing to my body. Yet, i do love my red hair. Does anyone know the long term effects of the dye? Does anyone know whether you can get natural dye. Where? I'm in the UK

yes there is some thing like a natural hair dye. like Henna is a natural hair dye sorry i dont know its english name but it should be easily available in the UK . it is a common plant in many asian n middle eastern countries its also called mehendi ,its leave, with or without any other herb r made into a paste n then applied into the hair for coloring, different herbs provide different hues n they have medicinal value as well. henna is a very good conditioner

i think you should try henna coz its very natural and you will also get a perfect red color without harming yoor hair and they will remain silky

i think so you wont get henna easily in uk but keep trying or you can visit any hair specialist and ask for henna or take suggestions.

You can get Henna powder in the Body Shop - careful about which colour you choose because I went bright red!!! This is the powder they use in India to make the designs on their hands and arms too.

Henna is a great natural dye however it doesnt mix with regular permenant dyes so if you already have this on your hair then you MUST do a strand test to make sure it doesnt go spongy ( your hair that is).

If it does a good alternative is a product by Sebastian Intenational ( I think they are now owned by wella in the UK) , they do a range of colours that are called Cellophanes. they are tone only colours, vegatable dyes and will boost the condition of your hair and the shine like you have never known. The clue is in the name, its almost like each strand is wrapped in cellophane. Also acts as a great protector if you do a lot of swimming or working out. you would need to contact Wella to find your nearest salon but it would be well worth it.

hope that helps
