A question about going natural with hair?

I went natural four days ago and it hasn閳ユ獩 been relaxed in one months. When I cut my hair I had an inch of natural hair. I noticed my hair is growing fast really fast. My hair feels very different because I閳ユ獡 so use to my hair feeling straight and flat. Anyways, I wanted to know how many women grew there hair natural and how long did it take for it to grow? I heard that your can only grow as long as it did when you were a child, is that true? Also, any tips on how to keep your hair healthy? Thanks!

A question about going natural with hair?

Hey... I just went natural on March 30. I transitioned for a year and a month. My hair is approximately 7 inches stretched. I've never heard of only being able to grow your hair to length as if was when you were a child.

Many people have realized that their hair has grown much more after going natural.

a good website for natural hair is nappturality.com, there you will find all the possible resources that you need for taking care of your hair

A question about going natural with hair?

It depends, my hair grows 1/4 inch per month. Some people's hair can grow 1/2 or more inches; 1/2 inches is the norm (I read it somewhere, I forget).

It also depends on how you care for your hair. For example, my hair grows like crazy when I leave it alone, so if I braid my hair or wear it in twists I see a lot more growth than usual.

The more I manipulate my hair the less growth I see(due to breakage on the ends).

Congratulations!!!!! I have been wearing my hair natural since 1999 and I am so glad that I did. What is your plan for your hair? Are you going to wear it short? Long? curly? Pressed? Locked? Braided? Just condition your hair and keep it clean and lightly oiled and it will grow. It depends on how fast your individual hair grows and the season (Hair and nails grow faster in warmer weather) Might I suggest dreadlocks? I went that route and I now have hair down to my behind and it is healthy clean and neat all while being natural and easy to care for.

A question about going natural with hair?

Well I had went natural back in 2004, and my hair was I would say ear length. It took me about a year to get it to shoulder length, but now 2007, my hair is in the middle of my back, so it takes a while. But hang in there you will get used to your hair texture and how to handle it. And no that is not true. My hair is actually longer than when I was a child, but i have to say my hair as a child was a lot more stronger. For keeping my natural hair healthy I wash my hair every 15 days, with TreSemme Vitamin E Moisture rich shampoo and Conditioner For Dry and or Damaged Hair. Remember natural hair needs moisture or it will just be dry, brittle and will break off. Always use a Leave in Conditioner. I use TreSemme Restore, Conditioning Leave-In Creme. I also use Olive Oil to rub in my scalp so it won't get dry, and i use it as a Hot Oil Treatment once a month. I hope this really helps you. Good Luck!!!
