Should natural hair be braided wet or dry?

I am transitioning from relaxed to natural hair. It has been 5 weeks since my last relaxer. I plan on putting my hair in cornrows and wearing a wig. But I want to know if I should braid my hair wet or dry. I apologize if this question has been asked here already but I couldn't find it.

Should natural hair be braided wet or dry?

Depends on several things. If you use gel, wet. If you have short, thick, easy-to-braid hair, dry. I personally would suggest wet, because the braids hold better.

You should braid it dry if you plan on putting a wig on right away. It will mold and smell if you don't wait for it to dry really good first.

I would braid while it is wet because hair is able to stretch and hold better. Also use a gel when doing the cornrows.

I would braid it wet becuase it will hold better. Black hair is stronger (believe it or not) when its wet. Just make sure it dries before the wig.

i would suggest braiding it wet, like everyone else says, it holds better if braided wet, or before you braid each braid, apply some Olive Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion, it works really good on my hair whether its permed, braided or natural, it also restores damaged hair. You can get it at wal-mart, or sally beauty supply, thats where i usually get it from, i also use their perm pack, it has the perm, shampoo %26amp; conditioner, the moisturising hair lation, and directions. If you do want the hair lotion, i have a link to sally beauty supply so you can see what it looks like.

I would do it dry because if wet you risk breakage...especially when you are transitioning.
