I have black hair (natural) yes, i'm asian, and I've never dyed/perm or anything of that sort. Last year my hair started changing colors and now its a reddish brownish color.. the tips of my hair are extremely red/brown whereas the top isnt. is this abnormal?? What is the cause of it?? F.Y.I i only straighten my bangs, i rarely curl/straighten my hair.

You were probably outside in the sun a lot this year. Try using a shampoo made for dark hair, pantene and john freida have some. It will have a little bit of dye in it so it can make your tips a closer color to your roots.

when you are exposed in the sun for long hours your melanine is getting weaker...melanin is responsible for your color of your skin and hair..another reason is when you putting lot of hair creams and hairstyles(gel,wax etc.)..these could also decrease your melanin levels(hair color) and even chlorine from the swimming pools..
