Why do people assume that NATURAL hair is NAPPY hair?

And why do people assume that NATURAL hair requires less maintenance? I've had natural (unprocessed hair) for two years now, and it takes as much maintenance (if not more at times) than processed hair. Why is it that society almost demonizes unpolluted tresses? Stop the ignorance.

Why do people assume that NATURAL hair is NAPPY hair?

Because they make money of of thinking our God -given hair is ugly and needed to be changed.

I also think Nappy and Natural are synonymous. I don't think nappy is a derogatory term.

Why do people assume that NATURAL hair is NAPPY hair?

because they have no commen sense, and one day the will realize its the best way to go.

Why do people assume that NATURAL hair is NAPPY hair?

I completely agree.. my sister wears her hair completely natural and it is very curly not NAPPY.and takes a very long time to get it washed blow dried and sometimes when she straightens it ..its just that people are use to associating natual hair with the term nappy and it just stuck...

Why do people assume that NATURAL hair is NAPPY hair?

Yeah, I really can't stand that because my hair is natural and whenever I press it people think I got a perm and they be like my hair don't look nappy enough to not have a perm. It's stupid!

Why do people assume that NATURAL hair is NAPPY hair?

People lack knowledge when it comes to natural hair, I wear my hair natural and I have to twist it or braid it every night.
